As part of its mission, CKPC has the responsibility to protect its members by providing them a safe, fair, and trusted environment for all stages and at all levels, whether local, regional, provincial, national, or international. CKPC will not tolerate any form of abuse, harassment, negligence or violence, physical, psychological or sexual, in all programs and activities. This Policy applies to all those involved in the (federated) community (including members, participants, parents of members or of participants, volunteers, employees, officers, etc.).

March 29, 2020 | Congratulations to Lissa Bissonnette!

Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) recently announced the roster of paddlers nominated to compete in the 2021 international sprint events. Lissa Bissonnette is among the 27 athletes that will be headed to World Cup events in Szeged, Hungary, and Barnaul, Russia. This based on performances at the CKC Olympic trials held in Burnaby, BC, earlier this month.

The Canadian Sprint Olympic selection continues through the World Cup season. GO Lissa! CKPC is cheering for you!

Our annual general meeting was held virtually on November 25. The members present were provided with financial and activity reports for the year 2020. October 29, 2020 | COVID-19 Update

ALL ACTIVITIES WILL CONTINUE WITH ZOOM TRAININGS


In light of the government’s announcement on October 5 and 26, and following recommendations from the Québec government, all in person training sessions are cancelled for an undetermined period of time.

In order to keep the athletes in shape and engaged, starting November 9, the coaching staff have put together training sessions for free to be done via Zoom along with a Team Challenge. Hoping that the restriction period ends on November 23, 2020, we highly recommend that all athletes participate in the Team Zooms.

We are offering this service to all U14 and under athletes that were registered in the Fall program and U16 + athletes that were registered for the season. If you are not interested in this service, please email us at infocanoe@pointe-claire.ca.

As specified by the Minister of Education, the Sport-Études program will continue according to government directives.

July 22, 2020 | No competition until August 31, 2020

The Association québécoise de canoë-kayak de vitesse (CKQ) released a statement that it is maintaining its decision to suspend all sanctioned events until August 31, 2020. Therefore, no regional, interregional or provincial competition can be organized by the clubs. The health and safety of members remain the top priority.

However, clubs may offer time trials without the involvement of any CKQ officials subject to certain conditions. Details here.

July 22, 2020 | 2021 Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships

On July 20, 2020, Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) announced that the Rideau Canoe Club (RCC) in Ottawa, Ontario, will be the host club for the 2021 Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships to be held on August 24-29, 2021.

P.S. Don’t forget that the 2020 Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships are cancelled.

June 16, 2020 | Great news!

Training activities are slowly starting up again at the Pointe-Claire canoe kayak club. As of June 18th, athletes aged 15 and older can return to the water (U24, U18 and U16). The other levels will follow in the coming weeks.

The docks will be reserved for the Club. Recreational boaters may use the docks at Grande-Anse Park. Please note that the parking lot near the chalet is closed due to the work.

February 3 to 8, 2020 | Bring a Friend Week

During the training activities from February 3 to 8, members are invited to bring a friend to help them discover our activities during the off-season. Invitations and parental authorization for participants under the age of 18 must be sent to infocanoe@pointe-claire.ca at least 24 hours before the training session. There is no form, we just ask you to write an e-mail.

Saturday, November 2 starting at 10:00 a.m. – rain or shine!

Athletes and parents come and help us get the Club ready for the winter. Don’t forget to bring warm clothing to work outside. (Gloves, rakes and brooms too!)

Lockers : Every locker must be emptied by Saturday morning at the latest. All remaining padlocks will be cut to ensure the locker rooms can be cleaned properly.

The official registration period is ending on Friday, October 25. Late fees of $33.00 will be applied to any registration completed after that date.

The information meeting for the Development Camp in Florida will take place on Tuesday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Recreation’s Department (94 Douglas-Shand Avenue, Pointe-Claire). This meeting is intended for athletes born between 2002 and 2006, and their parents. The topics covered at the meeting include: eligibility criteria, pricing and important dates.

August 14, 2019 | U16, U18, Open, Masters & Para Provincials (Montreal)

It was a weekend of excitement and intense emotions. The event was truly a great success, despite a few delays and unfavourable weather conditions on Friday and Saturday at times. More than 300 athletes from 12 clubs competed at these championships, some aiming to qualify for Nationals and others to gain valuable experience. And it is always nice to see former athletes come back to paddle for us!

We are proud to announce that Pointe-Claire finished second overall. It is now up to the athletes 14 and under to represent the Club in Shawinigan this weekend. Good luck to everyone! GO CKPC!

There will be a potluck supper at the Club on Monday, August 19 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “western”, so the kids can dress up as a cowboy/cowgirl; every athlete will receive an award.

The first letter of your last name is allocated to an aspect of the menu. Here’s the list :

  • A and B : salad
  • C to L : finger food (appetizers)
  • M and N: juice and drinks
  • P to S : main dish
  • T and V : fruits

The Club will provide the dessert. Rain or shine, we will be there. Also, we are asking the athletes to bring a picture of their favourite moment from this summer.

The Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club is hosting an Open House on Saturday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visit us and discover our activities that allow people of all ages to enjoy our exceptional facilities along Lake St-Louis.

It’s a great opportunity to meet our staff and coaches to learn more about how our Club works and the various programs being offered. Whether it is the canoe, kayak, paddle board or dragon boat at a recreational or competitive level – there is something for everyone!

Subject to weather conditions, you could go out on the water in a dragon boat, kayak, paddle board or canoe, and sample what this exciting sport has to offer.

The Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., at the Parks and Recreation Building located at 94 Douglas-Shand Avenue in Pointe-Claire. We encourage all members to attend this meeting.

If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors for the 2019 season, please complete a “Call for Candidacy” Form and submit it to the club’s office by November 14, 2018.

Saturday, October 27 starting at 10:30 a.m. – rain or shine!

Athletes and parents come and help us get the Club ready for the winter. Don’t forget to bring warm clothing to work outside!

Lockers : Every locker must be emptied by Saturday morning at the latest. All remaining padlocks will be cut to ensure the locker rooms can be cleaned properly. (Athletes can temporarily leave their personal belongings in the gym Saturday morning.)

An action-packed weekend… extreme heat, thunder, lightning, delays… Some 60 athletes proudly represented our Club during these 3 intense days of competition.

The Club finished in 3rd place overall and several athletes qualified for the National Championships in August.

Apparel Distribution: Lisa Spour and Rachelle Gaudet were so organized and the apparel looks amazing!

Fundraiser: This was truly a Club effort. Thank you Suzanne Boutin, Christine Seidl, Elizabeth Chaddock, Eric Mihalovic & Michaël Thomas for making it happen! Money was raised and everybody had a great time! Special thanks to Marc Creamer for joining us.

The Pointe-Claire Canoe Kayak Club is hosting an Open House on Saturday, June 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visit us and discover our activities that allow people of all ages to enjoy our exceptional facilities along Lake St-Louis.

It’s a great opportunity to meet our staff and coaches to learn more about how our Club works and the various programs being offered. Whether it is the canoe, kayak or Dragon boat at a recreational or competitive level – there is something for everyone!

Subject to weather conditions, you could go out on the water in a dragon boat, kayak or canoe, and sample what this exciting sport has to offer.

Canoe Kayak Canada has named 25 athletes to represent Canada at the 2018 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cups that will be held in Szeged, Hungary and Duisburg, Germany over two consecutive weekends starting May 18. Canadian athletes were selected last weekend at the first set of the National Sprint Team Trials in Gainesville, Georgia.

Lissa Bissonnette (Pointe-Claire) was selected to be part of the women's kayak team. Congrats!

April 7, 2018 | CKPC event – Gently Used Clothing and Sports Equipment Sale

Spring is almost in the air… and it’s time to clean our closets!

Volunteers are organizing a “gently used clothing and sports equipment sale” at the Club on Saturday, May 5th. This is not a garage sale (no toys, dishes, furniture, knick-knacks paddywhacks). We are looking for:

  • Clothing: winter jackets, t-shirts, pants, shoes (gently used), etc.
  • Training apparel: t-shirts, kayak-branded shirts, old singlets, poggies, booties, hoodies, etc.
  • Sports equipment: skis, ski boots, skates, etc.

Easy to get involved:
  • Donate stuff
  • Buy stuff
  • Invite friends & family

This initiative will reinforce sustainable development, enhance community spirit, and hopefully raise a bit of money.

November 22, 2017 | CanoeKids Workshop

A CanoeKids workshop will take place on December 16 in Pointe-Claire. The Club covers most of the costs associated with this training for members and employees (summer 2017).

Two simple steps:
1. Register on Coach.ca (« The Locker ») to reserve your spot
2. Pay $25 via Ludik

Places are limited, so book quickly!

November 7, 2017 | Lost and found

A variety of lost and found items are displayed on tables at the Club (t-shirts, jackets, shoe(s), equipment, sunglasses, etc.).

You have until November 18 to pick them up. After that date, they will be given to a local charity.

A huge thank you to all the athletes and parents that helped at our fall work bee last Saturday.

There was so many of you and the result exceeds all expectations!

November 3, 2017 | Fall Club clean-up

Athletes and parents, come lend a hand to the Club at our fall work bee on Saturday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. (Daniel will be there at 9:00 a.m. if you want to get there earlier).

Suggestion: bring your rake, broom, and gloves (we don’t have enough for everybody).

All padlocks and personal belongings must be removed from the lockers.

Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Olympic Basin (transportation with the Club bus) – training on the water and training in the gym (bring a lunch)

August 3, 2017 | Canada Games

Paddlers from our Club will represent Quebec at the Canada Games Sprint Canoe Kayak events taking place from August 7th to 11th in Winnipeg. Seven of our paddlers will be there as members of Team Quebec. One of these athletes, Corrina Higgins, competed in K2 and K4 at the Junior and U23 Sprint Canoe Kayak World Championships from July 27 to 30 in Pitesti, Romania. The six other paddlers are Juliette Brault, Emmanuelle Guilbert, Philippe Laliberté, Foster Salpeter and Victoria Saucier, canoe, and kayaker Nicolas Thirion.

Let's wish them all good luck!

July 26, 2017 | Mid-Season BBQ – August 2

Come and celebrate with us another great paddling season! Burgers, hot dogs & soft drinks on sale. We are asking each family/athlete to contribute a salad, side or dessert. 6:00 p.m. to sundown. Bring your lawn chairs/blankets.

July 25, 2017 | “Feed the coaches” week (Aug. 7-11)

It's the most wonderful time of the season, well at least for our coaches! Each day during Feed the Coaches Week you provide the coaches with a feast. This year's schedule is:
Monday: U9-11
Tuesday: U13
Wednesday: U15
Thursday: 16-23 & Racing+
Friday: Elite

This is one small way to acknowledge and thank them for the endless hours and energy they put into coaching. Let's make this the best Feed the Coaches week ever!

July 25, 2017 | Provincials 16+ (Shawinigan)


  • Balance of $55 for athletes staying with the Club must be paid via Ludik by July 31 ($100 deposit already paid).
  • Boat loading: Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Arrival on Thursday, July 27: Meet and unload at competition site at 5:30 p.m.
  • Team meeting: Thursday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at competition site
  • Team dinner: Saturday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. (Comfort Inn)
  • Boat unloading: Monday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Team dinner: Coaches are expecting every athlete to attend the team dinner. A reception hall at the Comfort Inn and a caterer have been booked. The cost is $25 payable in advance (cash or cheque) to Elizabeth in the office by Thursday at noon. If you are unable to attend, please advise Elizabeth by Thursday at noon or you will be charged.

Places are limited on the trailer so we cannot guarantee a safe place for each private boat. Athletes are invited to handle themselves boat transportation to Shawinigan, if possible. Please speak to your coach.
